Are Certain Seats Safer Than Others?

When it comes to commercial airplanes, there generally isn’t any one seat that’s safer than the others.  In serious aircraft accidents that result in major injuries and even fatalities, seating placement on the plane really didn’t have much bearing.  So many other factors depended on the severity of the crash.

What Government Agency Oversees Airplane Safety?

As mentioned previously, the FAA is in charge of airline safety in the United States and regulates and enforces safety regulations.  They often work together with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) after a particularly severe accident to investigate and update regulations if needed.
